Last updated: October 3, 2026

Whereabouts is a geography puzzle game. It does not collect, share, or sell personal data, and it has no account or sign-in.

• Game progress and statistics: your daily game, finished games, streaks and statistics are stored only on your device and never sent anywhere.
• Settings: your choices (distance unit, colour palette, appearance, haptics and so on) are stored only on your device.
• Daily reminder (optional): if you turn it on, the app asks for notification permission and schedules a local notification on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
• No network use: the app works fully offline and makes no network requests of its own. All map data is bundled in the app.
• No tracking, ads, or analytics: no analytics, advertising, device identifiers, or third-party SDKs.
• Crash reports: if you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us anonymous crash reports. We do not receive any personal information with them.
• Sharing a result: when you tap Share, the app creates a text with coloured squares and your guess count, and hands it to the iOS share sheet. You choose where it goes.
